designs of four young First Nations
artists, and we love them!

Where did the inspiration
for the artwork come from?
This artwork reflects my
feelings of self love but also
the journey of finding it as well
as knowing my worth. Before, I
thought I needed the approval
of others because when I
thought people did not like me, I
did not like myself. Now looking back, I’ve realised
how unfair it was to treat myself so harshly. I’ve
learnt that self love takes time. It also takes the
courage to surround yourself with those who
appreciate your brilliant mind and beautiful soul.
Where did the inspiration
for the artwork come from?
This art is inspired by me
being a part of the LGBTIQA+
community and my journey.
It’s also inspired by my queer
friends and their journeys.
This piece is about finding love
within ourselves, being proud of
who we are and finding our community.

Where did the inspiration
for the artwork come from?
The inspiration for Empowered
came from my belief that we
are constantly reinventing
ourselves. I am always trying
to improve in every aspect of
my life: my self love, my
mental and physical wellbeing.
Taking the leap to make changes in our lives may
sometimes be difficult, but as a result, we become
our best selves, and I think that progress not only
empowers others to do the same, but empowers
us to keep evolving.

Where did the inspiration
for the artwork come from?
The inspiration came from the
moments I’ve had connecting
to country and how it makes
me feel like the most beautiful
version of myself. To me that
is healing. I have such an awe
of Banksias and I’ve wanted to
create a piece incorporating them and this was a
perfect time to do it, plus adding the other
elements of country in there too.
