A program to prevent and prepare
Cultural Diversity Week, from March 21, is an apt time for
BCHS to take stock of the wins and losses of its Cancer Support
for People of Refugee Background in Bendigo program.
The wins have been encouraging, with hundreds of people of
refugee background now equipped with knowledge of and
access to culturally-safe cancer prevention, screening,
treatment and care.
The losses, well they’ve been profound, says Cultural Diversity
and Relationships Facilitator, Abbie Lockwood.
