9. Outreach Programs
Mobile drug safety workers provide
education on harm reduction and
treatment pathways for drug users.
The program proactively engages
with vulnerable people
experiencing harm from AOD who
are not engaged with mainstream
health, social support or AOD
treatment services.
An after-hours needle syringe
delivery program is available from
Tuesday – Saturday 7.30pm –
10.45pm. Includes Naloxone.
Naloxone is a medication that will
temporarily reverse the efects of
an opioid overdose. Call 1800 636

program provides an outreachbased response to individuals in
need. This response includes
conducting thorough health
assessments, ofering safe
transportation to an appropriate
location, monitoring the health and
overall well-being of the individuals,
and delivering follow-up care as
needed.
10. Home-based Withdrawal
Home-based withdrawal involves
supported clinical withdrawal from
a person9s home. It includes
assessment, withdrawal treatment
and referral and information
provision via face-to-face and
telephone. The withdrawal nurse
provides coordination with medical
services such as GPs and assists
clients to undertake a safe
withdrawal while remaining within
their own home.
